Rediscover the uniquely warm sound quality of analogue vinyl with the new Technics SL-1200GAE 50th Anniversary Limited Edition and SL-1200G Turntables.
The direct drive turntable was invented by Technics and is still highly acclaimed by audiophiles and DJ’s in the form of the SL-1200 Series. Because of this Panasonic have decided to develop a new system for Hi-Fi use.
Direct drive is considered to be for DJ use and belt drive is for Hi-Fi use. In the 1970’s Technics invented direct drive turntables. It is Panasonic’s intention to redesign the direct drive motor and control circuitry which will allow them to create a turntable that is superior.
Having inherited the DNA of Technics, Panasonic do not wish to merely make a replica of the SL-1200. Their intention is to redefine the direct drive Turntable !
The Technics 50th anniversary limited edition Grand Class SL-1200GAE and non-limited Grand Class SL-1200G have been developed for you to rediscover and experience the uniquely warm sounds of analogue vinyl. The New SL-1200 overcomes the analogue issues of the past in a number of ways. In conventional analogue turntables, sound quality was degraded by tiny vibrations of the motor and rotational speed fluctuations, known as ‘cogging’. By combining the knowledge and expertise gained as the originator of direct drive turntable systems, Panasonic have developed a new coreless direct-drive motor which eliminates this ‘cogging’. Any potential minute motor vibrations are suppressed even further by high-precision rotary positioning sensors guided by a microprocessor controlled system; a feature unique to the new Technics turntable. The Technics turntable aims to provide the smoothest possible rotary control by using an encoder at the bottom of the motor which detects the precise rotating angle.
These are just some of the innovations on the new Sl-1200. The SL-1200GAE and SL-1200G will be available Summer 2016.
